Biography[]

Rita Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina, SFR Yugoslavia (now Kosovo) to Kosovar-Albanian parents and moved to the United Kingdom when she was 1. She grew up around Portobello Road in West London, and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and then St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. Today she lives in Kensington, London. Ora began singing from a young age.

Career[]

She first gained notice when her debut album, Ora, was released in 2012 and debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts. The album features the singles "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party)".

"How We Do (Party)" hit number 1 on the UK Singles Charts as well as number 1 on the BIllboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart in the United States. Ora also had a hit collaboration with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea on her song "Black Widow". She also got to sing the Academy Award-nominated song, "Grateful", from the movie Beyond the Lights at the 87th Academy Awards on February 22, 2015.

As an actress, Ora has made cameos in music videos by Jay-Z and Drake. She has also appeared in the 2004 film Spivs and in 2013's Fast and Furious 6.

On September 23, 2014, Ora announced that she would be replacing Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue as a coach on the UK version of the hit singing competition show The Voice. On June 15, 2015, Ora announced that she would be joining the judging panel of The X Factor, joining Simon Cowell, Cheryl, and Nick Grimshaw.

Personal Life[]

Ora dated record producer and DJ Calvin Harris from May 2013 to 2014. Harris announced their break-up on Twitter.
